      You have to fight in court, the court registry will not list your case, you have to find ways to fight this in US Court.

    Calling its employees ‘DEADWOOD’ can only come from the DAWOOD of Cognizant – Rajeev Mehta, who is running Cognizant as an underworld Don.

    Tax evasion, bribery, B1 visa misuse, valuntary retirement, illegal retrenchment, inhuman working conditions etc on his name, Rajeev Mehta should quit Cognizant for the sake of its 200K+ employees.

      Raj Mehta is one of them. There is a big coterie within Cognizent is making money for themselves in terms of promotion, shares and salary hike.
      Raj would not have made this comment without prior approval of his immediate boss Frank, CEO.
      So a complete refresh of CTS seniors is required to save this company before it is too late

      I too have many evidence which I will share when needed. I have phone conversations recorded where the HR, talent managers, CPOs etc calling and instructing me to resign.

    Same happened with me..I was given poor rating and I was put on bench and asked to crack exams even. I was told if you would fail exam you will have to leave..Second option they told me “that put resign and tie up with quests four four month”..and after that my IT career has finished..My father was suffering from cancer..and in that period my younger sister too expired.. Now my father too passed away.. I had to return to my town

      This is a part of life, don’t make Cognizent responsible for your family tragedy.
      If you would have been competent you would not got poor rating in the 1st place.

      In CTS the poor performers are repacked by good ones. This company does not give you lifetime job guarantee.
      Appraisals are happening regularly and honestly.
      There are so many good HR practices in CTS.

      In this world competent people only survive

      Very sorry to hear Saurabh. Cognizant is no more an employee friendly company. These days they only send mailers for donating blood. They don’t care for employees and would not hesitate to throw their parents if they aged. There are few immatured people around who would not understand the value of social support at trying times. Cognizant appraisal system is a bad evaluation practice.

    Follow legal terms while doing retrenchment. If company has authority to layoff using appraisal, any company can terminate employees as per their own wish. Now appraisal happening to identify bottom 10. If company want to do more, nxr year it will do appraisal for finding bottom 10. Law of land should be followed. Employee can be retrenched based on law of land. Labor dept should be involved. Severance package should be paid. Verizon is removing 44000 employees in US and severance pay of 3 weeks salary for every year of service is paid in addition to bonus/shares and other retiral benefits. Law is followed in US and fly in air in India is the problem

      Dear Shyam, how Cognizant management could be booked for voilating the labor law in India? I would rely on NDLF to file the case in the court of law or guide me how an individual can do so.

        You 1st go to labor commissioner office immediately and file a notification there. Do some googling to find the details of the address and process.
        But if you have resigned, then not sure how strong your case would be

    Please sue them in USA Court. No disparagement is a mutual term. It is ironic how someone has been a DEADWOOD all his career is calling laid off employees DEADWOOD. I hope they are paying 6 months severance and not disparaging employees in public. Someone needs to teach these Cognizant poster boys a lesson.

    Dear Jayesh, Individual can do if there is threat to their employment by filing 2A. Group of employees can file 2K. I have written various articles on this. As union, we can file PIL against CTS. But we feel more than creating litigations awarness on retrenchment is illegal is very important. If this awarness spread and if every employee resist to resign, it will be big problem for IT companies. Currently by various false threats and harrasements, company make employee submit self-resignation and show that as normal attrition to exit. So if this awarness created, it will be big bottleneck. They can terminate random 1-2 employees but definitely not like they do now. So create awarness to your fellow employees, read our articles like IT life – Fun or problems (both series) to face various false threats and file complaints in lc office if u face any challenges. This puts hard stop end to layoffs
