Swedish Software Firm works without a CEO

Do you really need a CEO (the suits in general) to run a company? Really no. The examples given below are rare in modern  world, but in a changed social setting it is possible to run a company democratically.

  1. When staff at Swedish software firm Crist sat down to list their CEO’s functions they realised there was nothing they themselves could not do . So they got rid of the position and now the 40 odd employees take all the decisions themselves by holding 4-day meetings 2-3 times a year. And being in charge keeps Crisp’s workers more motivated.

“Just imagine that the place you work is run by you and your fellow workers. You probably wouldn’t layoff your co-worker to increase the value of your stock, would you? Or give yourself a pay raise, making your co-workers take a pay cut.”
